For my winter project, I decided it was time to rebuild my 11 year old FireFly 5.0 hot air balloon basket that has about about a 1000 hours. The hoses are a year old, the floor, runners, and load ropes are in great shape. The vertical wicker was looking pretty tired and damaged and had a lot of broken horizontal wicker. This project took a little over 2 months to complete (not working on it full time, I had other hot air balloons in the shop to work on as well). Glad the project is done and looking forward to a great flying season. If you would like to fly with us this summer, check out our specials on https://www.lifecycleballoons.com

What a great way to start the Spring Season with a great hot air balloon flight! We launched from Boulder and flew across Longmont and landed to the northeast of Longmont. A spectacular flight covering about 20 miles (we usually fly about 5 miles on most of our flights) at altitudes of around 9,000 ft above sealevel. We had spectacular views of Denver and the front range of the Colorado Rockies. Of course our passengers thoroughly enjoyed the flight on this wonderful spring day in Colorado.
A happy group of passengers
Lu got his private hot air balloon pilot certificate this past Saturday in Albuquerque. He did a great job on the oral exam and his flight exam. We had a nice celebration afterwards.
